The report from the cable industry shows once again that cord cutting is real. As more people find out about alternative ways to watch their television shows the cable industry is losing subscribers. The economy and a large number of tech savy consumers are proving they don't need broadcast TV or cable they want to consume content when they want it. With new TV's filled with streaming apps and cheap set top boxes that bring an amazing number of program choices cable television seems like a soon to be dead industry. Will a new generation of consumers used to watch Internet television and show when they want ever pay for cable again. Like we have reported before on this blog unless you need TV for live events like news or sports most people can live with picking show they want to watch without access to live television.
The numbers are tell sign that more people prefer not only to save by not paying for cable, but enjoy the large amount of content online.

Cord Cutting Newbie Guide

The readers of this blog ask me if I miss live TV or sports events, since I am not a sports fan I have not had a problem with missing live sports events and for live TV there are very few shows I need to watch live. The only live shows I do watch would be the nightly news and the talk shows at night like Conan and I can get that for free with my over the air antenna. This set up has worked well for me and the $100.00 I am saving each month is motivation to keep finding new ways to find legal free content online.
It has come to the point where there is more for me to watch online then there is free time to view all the shows I want to see.
If you a new to cord cutting I recommend trying to find your shows online or through over the air broadcasts. Once you master finding your shows online and start getting comfortable with the idea of not having cable TV you will be ready for the next step calling the cable company to cancel your service.
The Terk HDTVa indoor antenna is the model I am using and I have placed a link bellow where you can find it. This is the best indoor antenna that I have found after testing many different makes and styles. In my area it seems to be the best for picking up the further away stations, but as with any indoor antenna you might have to play around with it to get it set up properly for your local stations.

Cord Cutting Growing Cable Companies Deny Facts
It's funny how most major cable operators are denying that people are canceling cable service. The most recent industry numbers show clear evidence that more and more people are getting rid of their cable service.
The leap in technology of streaming video online and the quality of over the air digital channels has had a major impact on the cable companies. If the cable companies want to stop losing subscribers they need to introduce a plan that allows consumers to pick the channels and stop forcing packages that force consumers to pay for channels they would never watch.
A new generation of consumers is growing up watching video online and have no emotional attachment to cable. As more people learn how to obtain shows online the cord cutting number will continue. The cable companies are now trying to limit bandwidth and making it more expensive to gain video content online, but cable cutter know that there are many other sources such as DVD's and over the air to fight back. You can charge more for bandwidth, but you will not gain back true cord cutters that have been disappointed by the cable companies over the years.
