Cord Cutting Tip 1 Use WiFi Hotspots to Save Bandwidth

If you are tied to an Internet provider that limits your bandwidth then try using a free hotspot. If you are an iTunes user why not rent your movies and shows while at the local Starbucks and download to your laptop. Watch the show in full screen glory when you get home. There are many legit sites to buy or rent content online and do not take much time to download.

If you are planning to use torrents then some WiFi hotspots might not work or it would take forever you would need to drink to many coffees while waiting for the download. What I found is that doing my Windows updates or downloading music and content form sources like iTunes and Amazon work well and lowers my bandwidth usage at home. It sad that some ISP's place these limits, but I think consumers are smart enough to figure work around.

The more bandwidth you can you gain by using this tip will give you more hours of Netflix streaming or HULU. The cable companies might try to place limits on what you can download, but cord cutters will find a way to get content.
