Why Buildings Don't Want Satellite Systems

It's funny when you see on a rental agreement that a satellite system is not allowed. The fact is that most building don't want you to have a satellite because they get a fee from the cable company for access to the building. This means every month part of your cable bill goes to the buildings owner. This practice is unfair and many people are not aware that this is the case. The attachment of a satellite system over a balcony might not be a great idea, but there are many way to secure a dish without putting anyone at risk.

The time has come to expose building management and their secret deals with cable companies. It's not fair to consumers and creates a monopoly for those who live in apartments. There needs to be a secondary system for people in apartments to get access to television without depending on the cable company.

As you can see from this blog and others there is a fight from the people for fair pricing. We need to fight the cable and large media companies or else prices will keep going up and consumers are forced to pay for crappy programing. If you have made the move to free to air then congrats this is the best way to go right now. You get many free channels over the air and with a new HD TV most broadcast are now in HD. Save money and stop paying for cable. Those who are stuck in a building and not able to use an antenna complain to your local politicians . We can no longer let large monopolies control the price and way we watch television.
